The 8th edition of the EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF), the largest meeting on science and innovation, will take place in Toulouse in July 2018. Hosting of ESOF brings to Toulouse the designation of "European City of Science". Parallel to the scientific programme, the Science in the City Festival will invest the city and its surroundings.

Toulouse has been chosen to host for the first time in France the 8th edition of ESOF (EuroScience Open Forum), the largest interdisciplinary science meeting in Europe. ESOF will take place from 9 to 14 July 2018 with the motto Sharing science: towards new horizons.

European City of Science

Following Stockholm in 2004, Munich in 2006, Barcelona in 2008, Turin in 2010, Dublin in 2012, Copenhagen in 2014 and Manchester in 2016, the city of Toulouse has been chosen to host the 8th edition, making it the European City of Science.

4000 researchers

Created in 2004 by the association EuroScience, this biennial European forum brings together over 4000 researchers, educators, business actors, policy makers and journalists from all over the world to discuss breakthroughs in science.
Its programme will cover five topics, mainly in English: Science / Science Policy / Careers / Science to Business  / Media and Science Communication.

Science in the City Festival

In parallel, the Science in the City Festival will offer the public a varied programme of fun activities and scientific events throughout the city.
