Following on from the French-Argentinian Cooperation for Innovation Meeting which took place from November 26 to 28, 2013 in Buenos Aires, INRA and INTA (Instituto Nacional de Technología Agropecuaria) renewed their cooperation agreement (the first framework agreement was signed in 2006).

This new agreement plans:

  • joint research projects principally in the framework of INRA's metaprogrammes and INTA's national programmes;
  • joint participation in international calls for proposal: Horizon 2020, GRA (Global Research Alliance on agricultural greenhouse gases) and FACCE JPI (Joint Research Programming Initiative on Agriculture, Food Security and Climate Change).

INRA and INTA wish to focus on the following subjects: food security, adaptation to climate change, plant protection and animal health, soil microbiology, new and emerging technologies (plant genomics, genomic selection in cattle) and organisational innovations.

The two institutes announce that they will pay special attention to INTA's activities in Montpellier as part of Labintex and the exchange of young researchers.
