A delegation comprised of the Presidents of Agreenium, INRA and CIRAD visited the Head Office of the Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) on February 3 and 4, 2014 in Rome. Marion GUILLOU (Agreenium), François Houllier (INRA) and Michel EDDI (CIRAD) met with the Directors General José GRAZIANO DA SILVA (FAO) and Kanayo NWANZE (FIDA) and their teams.

Research occupies an important place in the framework agreement concluded in 2012 between the French government and the FAO. This visit, in the new Strategic Framework of the FAO, enabled INRA to discuss the major topics of joint interest, such as agroecology, climate change and nutrition. Agreements were also signed between Agreenium, the IFAD and the FAO, as well as between CIRAD and the FAO. Agroecology, a field for which INRA has been a reference for several years, was therefore at the centre of these meetings, with the probable joint organisation of an international conference, both scientific and political, as of 2014.

The President of INRA also took the opportunity to meet with the organisers of the 2015 World Exhibition in Milan. INRA will be one of the major contributors in the French pavillion on the theme "Feed the planet, energy for life".
