The ResistVir database project

Updated on 07/15/2014
Published on 03/27/2007

ResistVir aims to improve the co-ordination of research on genetic resistance to plant pathogenic viruses/vectors in European crops. This will ultimately result in new sources and mechanisms of sustainable resistance to plant viruses/vectors being used in conventional and GM crops and in decreased pesticide usage. It is a co-ordination action funded by the European Commission under Framework Programme Six: Food Quality and Safety Priority Area.  An on-line database describes the research activities, methods, technologies and resources used to control plant viruses and their vectors. Both the database and the dedicated web site are designed and built by the Fruit and Vegetable Genetics and Breeding Unit of the INRA research centre of Avignon.
