The result of several years of collaboration between the Joint Research Unit for the Science and Technology of Milk and Eggs (STLO) and scientists at the Federal University of Minas Gerais in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, this International Associated Laboratory is the first for INRA with a South American country. It is also the first International Associated Laboratory to be managed by an INRA team in Bretagne-Normandie.

Born in February 2007 from the foundations of longstanding cooperation between Argentina and France, and subsequently joined by Brazil, the AgriteRRIs International Research Laboratory is evolving; it has now become an international research network (2RI).

From 4 to 7 April 2017, four agricultural scientists from INRA’s Environment and Agronomy division trained 24 agricultural scientists in India on how to use the STICS modelling tool to better manage water and nitrogen use for crops. The focus was on how to apply necessary crop inputs without harming the environment or diverting water away from other uses.

A one-day conference was held on 18 May 2015 by INRA and its Argentinean counterpart INTA (Instituto Nacional de Tecnología Agropecuaria), in partnership with the CIRAD, IRSTEA and IRD, and with support from the French Embassy in Buenos Aires and the Argentinean Embassy in Paris.
