Individual susceptibility to liver toxicity of alcohol depends on the intestinal microbiota

Despite excessive alcohol consumption, some individuals remain in good health while others develop liver disease. This inequality regarding the toxicity of alcohol for the liver depends on the intestinal microbiota.
