Pursuing the prion

Formed during the first “mad cow” crisis, the interdisciplinary “Prion Task Force” has spent the last 20 years studying an unconventional pathogen—the prion—that is capable of crossing the species barrier to infect humans. For their dedication in protecting human and animal health, the task force members have been given the 2018 INRA Science with an Impact Award.

With Isabelle, results spring up like mushrooms

Isabelle Oswald, Research Director at INRA’s Food Toxicology Unit (TOXALIM) (Occitanie–Toulouse), is the 2018 winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award for Agricultural Research for her work in immunology and toxicology, and in particular, mycotoxins.

Is there an « obesity paradox » of cardiac survival in heart disease?

Abdominal obesity is associated with the development of cardiovascular disease. However, an ‘obesity paradox’ phenomenon has been identified.
