Coordinated by the INRA-Université de Tours Joint Research Unit for Infectiology and Public Health (ISP), the international Master’s degree in “Infectious Diseases and One Health”, operated jointly with Erasmus Mundus (EMJMD-IDOH+), has been selected once again to benefit from European funding and is thus one of the 44 applications chosen out of 91 candidates.

During the visit by the French President to Japan on 26 and 27 June 2019, and in the presence of Frédérique Vidal, Minister for Higher Education, Research and Innovation, INRA finalised important agreements with two of its Japanese partners; one with the Japanese National Agriculture and Food Research Organization (NARO) and the other with the University of Tsukuba, as well as participating in preparations for the next Franco-Japanese commission on research which is scheduled in France during the last quarter of 2019.

On Tuesday 30 April 2019 in Lusignan, Philippe Mauguin, President of the French National Institute for Agricultural Research and Alain Rousset, President of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, opened two new experimental facilities, Ferticap and Siclex, alongside Abraham Escobar Gutiérrez, President of INRA’s Nouvelle-Aquitaine-Poitiers Research Centre.

To foster INRA’s collaboration in India on global issues such as sustainable development, environmental protection and food security, Girish Sohani, President of BAIF Development Research Foundation, India’s largest NGO in the field of agriculture and long-standing partner of INRA, visited INRA on 21 and 22 March and met Philippe Mauguin, President of INRA.

On the occasion of the Chinese President’s visit to France, two agreements for International Associated Laboratories (LIAs) were signed at INRA Head Office in Paris on Tuesday 26 March by the President of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) Dr Tang Huajun, and the President of INRA, Philippe Mauguin. These two LIAs are more examples of successful, high-level research collaborations between the two countries around global issues related to agriculture, food and the environment.
