On Thursday 11 July 2019 at Lusignan, Wagdi Ghaleb will defend his thesis untitled: Analysis of the genetic diversity of the germinative response to temperature of populations of Lolium perenne L., Festuca arundincea Schreb and Dactylis glomerata L.
INRA organized an international conference in collaboration with the University of Poitiers, from 18 to 20 June 2019 in Poitiers, France. It provided an exchange forum for scientists, decision makers, funding organizations (agencies), and geopolitical entities to discuss critical issues and realistic opportunities and challenges for the implementation of the 4 per 1000 initiative in France, in Europe and in the world.

A team of researchers from the CNRS, INRA, and the University of La Rochelle is now the first to have demonstrated that organic farming benefits honeybee colonies, especially when food is scarce in late spring. The scientists analysed six years of data collected through a unique system for monitoring domesticated bees that is unparalleled in Europe.
Since the discovery of the first outbreak of Xylella fastidiosa in Corsica in 2015, INRA has focused its research on the development of technologies to accelerate detection and identification of the bacteria in France. Scientific progress concerning the vector insects and their interactions with the environment mark another phase in research. Models and detection tools are sent to the French authorities in charge of crisis management – the DGAL (French Directorate General for Food Safety) and ANSES (The French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety) – to improve preventive actions and adapt the prophylactic analyses and measures.

Transcriptomic analyses of developing gonads from different animal models have revealed that hundreds of genes present sexually dimorphic expression patterns. DMXL2 was one of these genes and its function in mammalian gonads was unknown
